Refrigeration Pipefitter / Installer

Job Description

Rolls Mechanical is seeking a skilled and dependable Refrigeration Pipefitter and Installer to join our team. This position is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems and equipment for commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate has experience working with copper, steel, and other piping materials, and can read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure high-quality, code-compliant installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and refrigeration components according to specifications and building codes.
• Cut, thread, weld, solder, braze, and bend pipes using proper tools and techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to plan installation or repair work.
• Install, connect, and test refrigeration equipment such as compressors, evaporators, condensers, and controls.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration piping systems as needed.
• Ensure work meets all safety standards, company policies, and local/state/national codes.
• Collaborate with team members, contractors, and supervisors to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in clean and good working order.
• Document work performed and materials used.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; technical school or apprenticeship program completion preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in refrigeration pipefitting and installation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, pipefitting practices, and applicable codes (e.g., ASHRAE, OSHA, EPA).
• Proficiency in soldering, brazing, welding, and other joining methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with safety procedures, PPE, and job site best practices.
• EPA Refrigerant Certification (preferred or ability to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
